What South Knoxville / SoKno feels like
South Knoxville, often shortened to SoKno, is the city’s strongest blend of outdoor recreation and close-in neighborhood life. It begins across the Tennessee River from downtown and stretches through residential areas, commercial corridors and the Urban Wilderness network.
The Urban Wilderness has become a defining part of South Knoxville’s identity, but the area is more than trails. Sevier Avenue, Island Home, Vestal and surrounding communities add restaurants, breweries, parks, historic sites and everyday neighborhood life.
